Memorie completed her first week of the bachelors program, and decided there is a reason students think college is fun. Lets just say that the bachelors program is much less demanding than the associates.

Thursday evening jake made the comment to Mom, "Now that Mem is gone, Zac and I have the entire upstairs to ourselves." He was unimpressed when mom told him that Mem will be home every weekend because she works. In fact he groaned.

Saturday night was Prom, and so Saturday day Ben and his friends all hung out at our house, and made dinner, and desert. They actually made chineese food; egg rolls, stirfry, etc. Also Ben's date, Chelsea made cheese cake and was sweet enough to make one for our family as well. Unfortunately Memorie worked friday and saturday nights, so the whole dressed up part of prom was missed, but Ben took pictures with Mem's camera and Chelsea brought it to the hospital after prom, on her way home. Apparently this year Prom was held in the Wildwood room just outside of Victor (kinda by the car wash).

Ben and Chelsea

Yesterday, Memorie headed back out to college. School starts tomorrow 4-21 and goes until the middle of July. Help was had from all her brothers at home, hauling and moving everything down the stairs and getting it all to fit in the Jimmy. Susan had the blood drive on wednesday 16th, and on friday had a book sale at the library. On Saturday, Ben had the honor society yardsale, and then he went and decorated Chelsea Kaufman's room. He said he already asked her to prom, but it wasn't a very fun way, it went something like this Ben: do you wanna go to prom? Chels: I don't know. Ben: then plan on going. So he decorated her room and said thanks for syaing yes for the whole creative part. Prom is next week, and before Memorie left for school, he asked her to pick up his fusia bow tie when she comes home to work friday and saturday nights. Of course we will attempt to get pics and post them.

All of us at the falls by Twin.

At the city of rocks, this one is called window arch or something like that.

All of us on another rock at City of Rocks.

At the head of Hell's canyon, just below the dam, where we set off on the boat.

And of course the fish being dumped back into the river.

March 24th Mom, Dad, David, Mem, Ben, Jake, and Zac headed across Idaho to boise. We spent the night in a hotel in Boise and early the next morning we went to Hells Canyon. It is right on the boarder of Idaho and Oregon, and let me tell you, even for seasoned pass travelers, the road into Hells Canyon made us all nauseaus. Though the cliffs along the road were impressive, for the sake of all our stomachs the cliffs only got passing glances durring the very short sections of straight road. The river trip was very fun, and on the way back up the river, the boys sat in the back of the boat, where the boat was open, and the driver delighted in getting them wet on the rapids. Needless to say, when we got back to the car, the boys were wet, cold and having a blast. Something interesting we saw not really related to the majesty of the canyon, we saw a big tanker pouring fish out of the back into the river. The guide said the power company catches the steelhead that come up river, harvest the eggs, hatch them, then in spring they pour the little fishes back into the river below the lowest dam. It was kinda fun to see the little fishes come out of the truck all disorriented, then see them perk up and start swimming down stream. Then we went home through Baker City Oregon, which while that was a little longer, it was easier on all of our stomachs.
The next day we went to the birds of prey place outside of Boise, then we went to the Science Discovery Center. The boys really enjoyed all the fun things to learn about science. Then we went to Twin Falls and spent the night. Then on Thursday, we went to see the falls, then headed to The City of Rocks. Even though it was cold, and the boys were all bundled up in their winter clothes, and their faces were all red, they had a blast climbing all over the rocks. Then we headed home, and of course we were almost to Poci and we found out that the roads into the valley had been closed for the morning because of a blizzard. We made it home alright, but for a little while we were thinking we may have to spend the night in IF. I'll post pics of the vacation later.
