Last week in June!!!

Mom's week off is now ended. She was called sunday afternoon, then again on Saturday. The one on saterday was only from 7pm-midnight as the woman who was supposed to be there didn't get it on her schedule, and then by the time they had gotten hold of her she had had some alcohol so she couldn't come in. Mom only had to wait until anther nurse who was prepared to work the night came in to replace her. Dad started swathing this past weekend. See Memorie's blog for details on her swather duty for the weekend. Ben has been moving six lines of pipe. Lucky for him they haven't all been running at the same time. Jake and Zac are tag teaming on Larks and Docs. Jake likes to say that Zac is moving Larks, but I haven't seen Zac really commit to that.

On another note. I didn't ever mention it but about five weeks ago Two-Two had kittens. Three white ones and one black one. In the past two weeks Two-Two adopted another three orphaned kittens from the barnyard. When the boys finally brought them to the house so Two-Two would stop sneaking out to the shed to feed them Dad discovered that they all had eye infections. There were actually four kittens from the shed, but Dad said the one wouldn't make it, so the boys took it back to the shed. The other three were separated from the rest and placed on the floor with the original four in a box to prevent the infection from spreading. Eventually their eye infections cleared up and now we have seven kittens. Four white, two black and one greyish. Some have names, like the two black ones and the grey one, and one of the white ones, others are still referred to as one of the white kittens. There is one tiny little one Hence his name is tiny. He's one of the black ones. The other black one is called Toes, 'cause he has little white toes on his hind legs. The grey one is called smoke or something like that.
This is Two-Two and all her kittens.
This is Tiny, and that is Memorie's hand.

So sunday was the begining of mom's week off, she was called in the afternoon to ask her if she would like to pick up a shift. She jokingly said she was going to keep track to see how often she gets called on her week off. Dad thinks he'll be harvesting this weekend and has requested all available hands to be on deck, so this weekend Mem will head home and help harvest. That means she has to work really hard to get all her homework done before the weekend.

Memorie has her own blog. Now that is not to say she won't keep updating on the family, but more details on her life can be found at http://www.memallen.blogspot.com/.
Ben ran 4 miles, it was one of the events that they had at the marathon. A 16 mile relay. Josh, James, and Bryce all ran with him. I don't remember what 4-H the boys are doing. Hmmmm out door cooking? I forget.

Alright, well happy father's day. A really quick update for you, Mom is looking at decreasing her responsabilities at work, of course she'd still do the schedule but she wouldn't be in charge of the ER. That would let her stick with her 24 hours a week on he floor and no more. Dad has plans to start pipe monday. As of saturday there was no sprinkler pipe running. He spent much of saturday fixing the system to get the pressure up. Friday was the first day we yet this summer without moisture of some kind. This week's weather forcast says lots of sun, which is of course very exciting, but also means the snow in the mountains will melt bringing unexpected high water for all down stream. Mem is still in school and every so often she has time to have some fun. Saturday Ben ran in the Teton Dam Marathon. He and his team, the snowmen, ran a relay. They each ran 4 miles. :P Jake and Zac came back from 4-H camp, where it rained on them all week. They came home with very dirty socks and extraordinarily wet shoes, but they had fun.

Well it's been a while. And now for the family update. Mom found a whole lot of mushrooms this last week and of course she is thrilled, Dad got his crops in just before it started to rain, he still hadn't rolled a couple of the fields, and he might not get to if the grain sprouts before the field is dry enough to roll. Mem is trucking away at school with all her homework, and of course she is having some fun. Ben spent the week in Boise at Boy's State. Jake and Zac are out of school and loving it. They are planning to go to 4-H camp next week(I think). June birthdays are coming, today, Happy birthday Lac. Tomorrow, Happy birthday Hal, and next week Happy birthday to Mom, David, and Dani, and of course don't forget father's day.

Yet another week has flown by. Ben has passed his CNA class and is now a CNA. Mem resigned from her job at the hospital and is now just a full time student. Dad is working diligently between rainstorms to get the crops in, and David is still working for trail creek nursery. Mom finished June's schedule and convinced Dad to take her on a date, though their date consisted mostly of supporting Mem in her decision to resign from the hospital. Mem appreciated their support. Mom didn't know what Ben intended to do with his CNA, but he is planning to work for Dad again this summer. I guess we'll all see what he intends to do with it. The end of school is approaching, and Jake and Zac are thrilled to get out of school, and to be able to play outside. The rain has put a little damper on the playing outside, but the sun will come out again someday, we are sure of it.

Wow, time sure does fly. This last friday evening and Saturday Sky and Lac came up, and Mem and mom got to play with Abi for a lot of saturday while Sky and Lac figured out what all they wanted to take back to Poci with them. Some things were removed from grandma's old house like those metal cupboards that used to be above her table in the kitchen, and the Nova got loaded up onto the trailer and was taken back to Poci. Jake finally got a haircut-courtesy of Lac, he actually let her buzz it. Jake and Zac have been having a blast playing out in the beautiful sunshine. Jake even had a tan line where his hair had been blocking the sun. Ben spent all of Saturday in IF with Chels. David and dad worked all day :trying to get equipment to work, and then trying to get crops into the ground, and: (repeat between colons). David has been working for trail creek nursery, and on Friday he and Brett were the only two working because Brett is salaried and he had to work, and everyone, including David had already reached their 40 hours for the week, so Dave got overtime, then he went with Sky back to Poci to bring the truck and trailer back home on Sunday. And of course we are all excited to have a new addition to the family, niece/nephew/grandchild.

A few quick things...

So I just wanted to post real quick and say that I'm super excited to be an Aunt! I hope all goes well with your pregnancy Lacey Joy (and Sky)!

And I'm coming to visit in July! I bought my plane tickets a couple days ago! I fly into Jackson on Tuesday, July 15th at 3:45 PM and fly out of Jackson on Wednesday, July 23rd at 10:18 AM. I'm so excited to see everyone!!! I can't hardly wait! This is worse than waiting for Christmas!!! I'll be there in 8 weeks and 5 days... not that I'm counting or anything...

And Mem, how are you holding up this week after work last weekend? Are you OK? (I'm not sure I would be.) Sorry you lost your first patient. That's gotta be tough.

I love everybody!!! Hugs all around!
Dani

Big Smiles!!

Another weekend has come and gone, with not much new to report. Ben had his last day of clinicals for his CNA on Saterday, and Memorie worked three nights in a row (one at EIRMC's ER for BSN clinicals and the other two were work.) Mom enjoyed mother's day, and Jake and Zac are trilled to play outside. Two-two(the black cat, from Tigger's last litter) is pregnant, and large, and when Memorie went home Saterday morning all the animals followed her up to her room, and wouldn't leave so she wound up napping with the door open, and the animals all over her floor and bed(animals= Zoro, Tigger, and Two-Two.) But when she woke up all but Tigger had left her room for more exciting places. This last weekend Memorie also was reminded of the natural cycle of life, we are all born, live for some time, then die. She was a part of all three this weekend at work. The family at home still this week started to de-weed the garden. The snow is mostly melted, though the weather is uncertain of the season. The fields are starting to be ploughed, though the ditches are still full of snow.
